INTRODUCTION 
The ability to present and speak effectively has been, and will continue to be, a much sought-after and essential skill in the modern world. The ability to communicate effectively is the single most important factor for personal and career success.

Good presenters stand out distinctively in their organizations. They get opportunities for career advancement and enrichment that elude weaker communicators. Effective communicators make better leaders, too. They are able to sell themselves and their ideas and products better.

This is especially so for leaders expecting to reach out to various levels of business organizations through official presentations.

This one-day workshop focuses on preparing the participants in speaking to groups of various audiences. It is specifically designed to take the participants from the basic foundations of preparation to the advanced readiness in presenting to the target audience.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants will learn useful tips, techniques and strategies that are essential for making impactful presentations. They will have the opportunity to practice and build up their skills & self-confidence.

1.  Setting the Stage 
      • Preparing well for the different types of presentations
      • Understanding the goals, context and purpose of presentation
      • Assessing and identifying target audience
      • Developing your “elevator pitch”
      • Planning your presentation to capture audience attention and increase understanding

2.  Organizing for Maximum Impact
      • Getting the structure & content right
      • Opening your presentation with an appropriate introduction
      • Flow & memory aids
      • Using the power of vocal variety and delivery to enhance clarity
      • Using your non-verbal cues, body language and movement to enhance presentation effectiveness and vividness
      • Integrating influence language, stories, supporting facts and examples into the contents and delivery
      • Developing and using visual aids to enhance your presentation effectively

3.  Mastering Your Delivery 
      • Techniques in overcoming presentation nerves
      • Projecting a positive image and delivering the message like a professional
      • Building rapport & credibility with the audience
      • Reading audience reactions and responding appropriately
      • Handling difficult & unexpected situations
      • Closing with an appropriate conclusion

4.  Presentation by Participants 
      • Course participants will be organized into small groups in a practice session to make presentations. This will be followed by self-reflection, peer evaluation and trainer comments to enhance learning.

Method of Instruction
Besides inputs from the experienced facilitator, the programme will involve a mixture of self-assessment exercises, group discussions and actual presentation situations with video recording & presentations. Participants will benefit from self-reflections, peer evaluation & instructor assessment.

Profile of Facilitator
Mr Francis Soh holds a Master of Science Degree in International Marketing from the University of Strathclyde (UK), among other academic and professional qualifications in marketing management (CIM), marketing communications (CAM) and training management (ITD). He is also a Certified Manager & Assessor of the People Developer Quality Standard by the Singapore Civil Service College and the PSB Academy and an ACTA certified trainer & assessor.

Mr Soh was awarded a Certificate of Commendation for outstanding performance in training & development by the Singapore Institute of Management concurrently with the Institute of Training & Development (UK) in 1990. He also received a 5-Year Long Service Teaching Award from the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) in February 2002.

Mr Soh has about 15 years’ industry experience in retail merchandising and management, marketing communications, sales & marketing management and training & development management/consultancy. He also worked for more than 7 years in an academic position with a tertiary education institution in Singapore.

He also conducted the Tourism Management & Marketing Course for the Integrated ASEAN Initiative (IAI) Training Program in Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar in 2006. His most recent project is the involvement in providing human resources consultancy for the Solomon Islands Port Authority located in the Pacific Archipelago since 2013 till the present.

Mr Soh has also recently conducted the International Business Trade Communication Program on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Vietnam, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia between August 2014 & February 2015.
