What can be done – by business leaders and companies – to build trust?
Transparency and credibility are key. It always starts at the top, with the leader of the organisation walking the talk. Gain the trust of internal stakeholders first and foremost and then validate this by the help of an independent third party.
For example, companies can voluntarily comply with the Code of Corporate Governance, which is currently not mandatory. Making additional financial and non-financial information available to the public will certainly help build more trust with investors.
