April 22 is Earth Day. What in your view is the most pressing environmental issue of the day?
THE most pressing environmental issue has to be tackling climate change. We thought it would take several generations for things to become dire but the world has already begun to experience severe effects much earlier than expected.
The thing is, the technology is already there for a greater shift towards energy conservation in the form of electric cars and solar-powered systems.
But there needs to be a greater push towards concerted efforts by world leaders to commit to effecting such change.
We may need to institute these initiatives into legislation so that governments and businesses take the lead in the adoption and promotion of energy conservation, and ultimately, it will trickle down to consumers.
