What’s the single most important issue that you expect to see addressed by the Committee on the Future Economy on keeping Singapore competitive? Why?
People are at the heart of every economy, as their skills and talents are the driving force behind economic competitiveness, especially in an era of political and economic uncertainty.
Therefore, the most important issue that I expect the CFE to address would be on enhancing skills for future employability. A further refinement of SkillsFuture may be critical to ensure relevance as well as greater effectiveness in meeting changing economic needs; accelerate usage and emphasise urgency for future employability and; help change the general perception and mindset of the people in order to achieve the overarching goal of driving Singapore’s economy forward.
